Beachcombers Bach.
Situated at the northern end of the station is the perfect quintessential kiwi bach saved from certain destruction from the erosion along the coast, it was pulled back from the edge, redecorated and an ablution block added.
The bach sleeps 6 in three rooms, 1 double, 2 single beds and 1 bunk bed. The master bedroom has a sliding door which leads on to a deck with an unobstructed view of the ocean.
The kitchen , dining room and lounge are small but functional, the table seats 4 and tucked into a corner is a wood burner which heats the entire house in no time. French doors lead onto the deck and windows line 2 sides of the room giving a wonderful view.
The shower, toilet and vanity with a mirror is very functional, through the door is the laundry with a tub and washing machine, this room leads outside to the carport area which houses the weber BBQ and wood supply.
All bed linen and towels are supplied, complimentary tea, coffee and sugar
An outside table with seating sits within a fully fenced area safe from the sheep and cattle which graze all around the bach perimeter.
Glenburn is a fully functional sheep, beef and deer farm. Guests need to be conscious of leaving gates as they find them. Behind the bach is the site of a Maori Pa, recognizable today by numerous piles of stones heaped up where the kumara was grown. Best viewed from above, on the hills behind.
For the months of August and September the Honeycomb Walking track is closed and the stock are not to be disturbed while they are lambing and calving.
Glenburn has an environmental policy of¿ take out what you bring in ¿ Only food scapes can be left for the pigs.
Beachcombers has limited cell phone coverage and no TV only a radio to keep up with world events and a blue tooth speaker. A small library of books and magazines and a pack of cards to entertain.
To mitigate the spread of sheep measles we do NOT have pet dogs on Glenburn, no exceptions.
We have limited cell phone coverage on Glenburn and Beachcombers has no landline, also we live one hour from the nearest town of Masterton, the last 27km are gravel, and are frequently used by logging trucks, care must be taken at all times.
