Reservoir House is on a hill overlooking a reservoir, with magnificent sunset views! It has an open floor plan of kitchen-dining-living room. This house was built in 1994 but has old fashioned appeal. It was the summer home for a renowned Brown University professor and his family, who still own it. Sunshine floods every room, and the charm & custom details make it both cozy and elegant. Birdsong fills the air, deer visit frequently, and an eagle likes to perch on the roof! There are no city lights to spoil the night so the sky is filled with stars. Upstairs there are 2 large bedrooms with Queen beds and a full bathroom The first floor has 1 large bedroom with a Queen bed, a small bedroom/office with a computer table & chair and a twin bed that converts to a Queen. The downstairs full bathroom also has a washer & dryer. The stone patio has a beautiful reservoir view. The large garden & spacious lawns are surrounded by a meadow. The outdoor shower is perfect to rinse off after the beach. Fully furnished including all kitchen utensils, blankets, pillows, towels, beach chairs & beach towels. The location is peaceful & quiet. Close to beaches, nature walks, artisan stores, antiques, restaurants, galleries, historic buildings, working farms & farmers' markets, vineyards, local fresh seafood. New England is famous for lobsters, clams, clam cakes and chowder! Sakonnet Vineyard is on the opposite side of the reservoir. The charming, old villages of Little Compton, Tiverton, Westport and Adamsville are all minutes away. Reservoir House is 30 minutes from Providence, the capital of Rhode Island, which is a beautiful cultural center with a thriving artist community, universities, museums and concert halls. It is close to the towns of Newport, RI & New Bedford, MA and Boston is a 60 minute drive away.
Children are welcome although the house is not "child proof". There are toys and games for both indoors and outdoors, suitable for children and adults.
Dogs under 40 lbs are welcome with an evaluation by the landlord, proof of up to date vaccines, flea control, and negative intestinal parasite test. There is an additional $500 security deposit and $100 cleaning fee per animal.
