The studio-style interior is decorated with chic furnishings and has all the essentials for your stay. A utensil stocked kitchenette, Smart TV with Freeview, iPod Docking Station and a DVD player, with a selection of music and movie DVDs, is offered for your entertainment. Or enjoy your time on the sheltered deck cooking a tasty summer meal on the Webber BBQ.

Some of New Zealand's best swimming and surfing beaches, marine reserves, additional regional parks and bike trails are between 10-30 minutes drive away. The nearest beach is fantastic for swimming, safe and deep at high tide. It is just a few minutes drive or a 20-minute walk to Scotts Landing Regional Park. Take the hamper provided and laze away outside the iconic homestead enjoying your picnic, walk one of the trails on the end of this Peninsular, or simply take in the tranquillity and history of the sheltered bay!
From the Black Box Studio, there are many small coastal tracks available to the public. Directly across the road, through the gate, you can carry your kayak or paddleboard down to the harbour beach.
Within a 10-minute drive, you'll find the start of an impressive selection of wineries and retail outlets, and head a bit further, breweries, art trails and Matakana famous for its Saturday Market. Matakana offers everything from restaurants, speciality and fashion stores to the famous Matakana Pub and last but not least, the Cinema which includes four Theatres.
The property is a 15-minute drive to Warkworth, where there are even more cafes, restaurants and pubs, two supermarkets and a Medical Centre (and a Medical Centre in Snells Beach 8-minutes drive from The Black Box). From Warkworth, you can walk along the river to the historic, abandoned cement works where you can swim in the deep quarry.

Please note the bathroom can only be accessed externally.Please be aware the main dwelling on the property will be occupied during your stay.This property does not have a full kitchen. A microwave, hot plate and toaster are available for food preparation.Guests should bring their own Nespresso compatible pods to make use of the available machine.This pool is available 10:00am – 5:00pm. It is not heated, however the pool cover raises the water temperature no less than 2 degrees above ambient.Please note a bond may be charged at certain times of the year.
