We are a few blocks to the CBD and supermarkets - some guests choose to walk there. Most of the local attractions are found there: restaurants, museum, art galleries, local market, i-SITE, river cruise, cycleway and Cooks Gardens and Velodrome.
City Haven provides private accommodation (we live there) with indoor and outdoor seating areas. The homestay has a shared kitchen, free WiFi and free private parking. There is a queen room available to rent on a separate listing under City Haven BnB Queen Room. Both rooms share a bathroom. There is a laundry, full kitchen and exercycle if you are energetic.
We live in a quiet cul de sac. There are not many cars in the street - which means easy parking if you have more than one car in your group. The beginning of our street is opposite the Racecourse and the Whanganui Function Centre. The hospital is 5 minutes drive.
Our conservatory is the room in our house that people gravitate to as it is a real sun trap. The bifold doors open up two walls of the room bringing the 'outside in'.
Whanganui airport is 5 km from the accommodation, and we offer a paid airport shuttle service.
Graeme and I decided to start travelling 40 years ago. This we have done to numerous countries utilising hotels, home exchanges, house sitting and air bnbs. It is such a pleasure to share experiences with our guests; the good and the bad. It is like revisiting our travels all over again. We thoroughly enjoy hearing of our guests' experiences and future travel plans, helping if needed. Besides travelling, we both enjoy gardening, Bridge and e-biking.
