Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: The kitchen was well stocked with plates, pans, and cutlery, as well as a full gas stove (as shown). The bathroom was completely adequate and came with a lot of towels. The neighborhood felt safe to me as a single woman, and the apartment as a short walk both to the cycle/walking path that goes into downtown New Haven and to two of the free Yale shuttles, one of which loops all the way to the rail station (but only runs on weekdays during business hours) and one of which goes to North campus. There were also decent buys connections within a few blocks. The door locks were easy to use. The host was very responsive to messages on Booking, at all times of the day and night (my plane was delayed, so I arrived well after midnight the first night). Thank you!

Negative: There is no thermostat in the apartment, so I found it uncomfortably warm (it was December, so I had not packed shorts or tee shirts). There was a fan, but it took a lot to get the room down to a comfortable temperature. The laundry is in the basement and comes with a fee, which can only be paid in quarters--I really wish I had known this beforehand, as it was a mile walk to the nearest laundromat and also a half mile walk to the nearest shop that would make change for me. Had I know it would be very warm and that I would need quarters, I would have found the trip much easier, but the hosts were very responsive and helpful when I had issues.
