Opening June 2022!!! Six cosy Cabins open onto an outdoor entertainment area perfect for accommodating and entertaining up to 20 guests. Kitchen/lounge facilities are provided in the Matrons Quarters (inside the main building) and a seperate bathroom block has three showers and four toilets.
Situated halfway between Auckland and Wellington, Taranaki and Hawkes Bay, and just over an hour from Whanganui, the Matrons Quarters is the newest accommodation offering at Snowy Waters Lodge, built on 1941 to accommodate the Doctors and Nurses at the former Waimarino Hospital.
Our location is private and peaceful yet within walking distance of shops and cafes. Turoa ski area is a 30 minute drive, Whakapapa is 45 minutes away. Transport departs daily from our doorstep during the summer months to the Tongariro Crossing. Jet boat and canoe journeys on the Whanganui river to the Bridge to Nowhere start here, and there are some fantastic walks and mountain bike trails nearby including the Old Coach Road, Fishers Track
Mountain bike storage and a bike wash down area plus secure CCTV monitored off street car parking makes us a great choice for groups of cyclists, tramping clubs and friends/family reunions.
